Clerk's Corner

The Township Clerk is the clerk for the Township board, which consists of a Supervisor, an Assessor, a Highway Commissioner and four Trustees. All of these board members, as well as the Clerk, are elected officials. Township Clerks do not vote, except in the case of a tie.

The Township Clerk has many duties; keeper of township records, clerk of all town meetings, authenticator of documents, administer of oaths, issuer of certificates and resignations, and is also a local election official.

Another important role of the Clerk is to give notice of meetings and the agenda through local newspapers, as well as public places within the township. The clerk is responsible for publishing or posting certain specific notices, including notices for the township highway department.

The clerk is the local election authority and is responsible for accepting petitions concerning local elections and/or referendums.

Voter registration is available through the Clerk's office for any Illinois resident.  Two forms of identification are required; one must be a photo ID and one must have the voter's current address.  You must be at least 18 years of age to register.

Early voting is available through the Clerk's office approximately 21 days prior to any election.  Early voting is available to any registered voter of Wauconda Township.  In-person absentee voting is available through the Clerk's office beginning the Friday prior to Election Day. Last day to register: October 7th
Early Voting: October 14th to 30th
Election Day: November 4th
