The Environmental Quality and Health Committee is a newly formed panel whose members are investigating and researching solutions to resolve environmental safety issues in our community. They are working with both public and private officials as well as community organizations in order to accomplish their goals.
This Committee was formed at our Annual Town Meeting in April 2004. Advisors to the Committee are Cathy White, Village of Wauconda; Bonnie Thomson Carter, Lake County Board Representative; Steve Pichman, chemist; and Mike Kuhn, Lake County Health Department.
The Committee is in the process of putting together a public education plan that will include public forums on important environmental issues that affect residents in Wauconda Township, including villages and municipalities within the Township. Contact Gabrielle Meyer at (847)487-2831 if you would like to assist in planning any of these forums.
The Environmental Committee meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Hall located at 505 W. Bonner Road in Wauconda. These meetings are open to the public.
